The Mass according to the Missal of 1962, is also known as the traditional Latin Mass, or Mass in the Extraordinary Form. In July of 2007, Pope Benedict XVI issued a motu proprio liberalizing the usage of the liturgical books used before the revisions of the Sacred Liturgy in the 1970’s following the Second Vatican Council. This Mass fulfills the disciplines now in force as a result of the motu proprio Summorum Pontificum. More information on the Holy Father’s motu proprio and the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite is available here.
Baptisms, Weddings and Funeral Masses may be celebrated according to the traditional Latin liturgial books (pre-Vatican II) upon request. Contact Fr. Tomlinson with questions.
